A message from the Vicar, Canon Tom Mendel, SSC
Welcome to our website. I hope very much that you will find it offers a taste of who we are and what we do. What it can't do is offer a taste of what we are like; or, more importantly, of what the God we worship and the Jesus we seek to serve are really like. For that you need to experience actual, not virtual, reality.
That reality is rooted in worship: our offering of ourselves to God in response to his gift of himself to us. Our Christian living stems from our encounter with God in Word and Sacrament. The ministry of Word and Sacrament at St Mary's is, broadly speaking, within the catholic tradition of the Church of England. Services are detailed on the 'Worship' tab above.
Our church really is a Parish Church. As such it is open to residents and visitors, to the faithful and to enquirers and you are as welcome in person as you are here.
Tom Mendel.
